NYFW – Rag & Bone

Remember that bitch named Sandy? It didn’t take long after she left her wrath for New Yorkers to meet her little brother, Nemo. Nemo, the asshole. New Yorkers – and surrounding areas – may hate him, but I appreciate Nemo. Instead of a lack-of-vaca depression from my passport expiry stupidity, I am thankful to be at home safe from bone-chilling blizzards and indescribable howling winds. Of course, even the worst of storms wouldn’t stop VIP fashion folk from viewing the biggest names on the catwalk. Die-hards.

Day two – NYFW. Let’s get to Rag & Bone. It’s no surprise that this RTW brand initially focused on denim. I have never owned a better fitting, snug, make-yo-ass-look-great pair of jeans. Since their transition to menswear soon after followed by womenswear, Marcus Wainwright and David Neville have made a name for their brand with interesting material combinations. With an aviation focused, womenswear inspired by menswear line for Autumn ’13, they managed to portray a slouchy sexiness. Typically predictable with their pops of colour, this year we saw a gradual procession of bright oranges, banana yellow and loads of magenta after opening with looks purely of black and grey enriched in houndstooth.

I was disappointed to see a Chanel representation with signature quilting on utility style trousers although I did appreciate the use of leather panel detailing and the suspender style pantyhose. I crave  a gigantic, oversized collar and let’s face it, I want almost every single piece in this collection.

Remember when I said I wanted ALMOST every piece in this collection. This menswear inspired suit is BORDERLINE GRANDPA and you wouldn’t catch me dead in it
