Fashion Books – The Making of Gucci

Since I began my fashion journey 4 years ago, I started collecting Vogue magazine and collector’s fashion books, some limited edition. My library is getting extensive and heavy.

Luxury fashion brands and magazines produce coffee table books that equal page turning gloriousness. I want to share my collection because they are beautiful and simply inspiring.

First up friends, ‘The Making of Gucci‘. This happened to be a Christmas present from my husband – he did good. This book compiles the legendary years in Gucci’s existence since 1921. It features their first ads, editorials and worldwide campaigns, the making of textiles and why they chose the fabrics they did, celebrity recognition, magazine features, letters to the Gucci group and sources of inspiration for the house of Gucci.

I hate to admit it, but I was never much of a reader. I only became extensively interested in reading when I finally realized what I was passionate about. I could read for days on end about the fucked messed up world of fashion. The pictures never hurt to look at either – they are beautiful. Where do you go for your sources of inspiration? Any favourite fashion books of yours that I should know about?
