Karl Lagerfeld Is Really Nice

It’s Monday morning! What better way to start your week none other than with a friendly insult from the 78 year old creative genius and mastermind behind powerhouses Chanel and Fendi.

Choupette! Fine, not her; thats his incredibly spoiled and incredibly famous cat. I’m talking about KARL LAGERFELD – of course. The man who is typically dressed in head-to-toe black, wearing sunglasses and carrying a fan has some pretty nasty shit to say, but I will be the first to admit, it’s kind of hilarious. Predictable and provocative but hilarious.

KL happens to be one of the most bizarre fashion designers. As I am doing my Monday AM fashion news reading, I came across a quote from KL he recently made about Pippa Middleton. “On the other hand her sister [Pippa] struggles, I don’t like the sister’s [Pippa] face. She should only show her back.”

This led me to remember some of the ridiculously outrageous and offensive things he has said publicly to date. Coffee and nostalgia early in my day – I have no choice but to share some of my favorite one liners from the fashion prick genius.

“Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You’ve lost your control in life so you bought a pair of sweatpants.”

On having no children, “They grow so fast and having children makes you look 100 years old.”

“Life is not a beauty contest, some [ugly people] are great. What I hate is nasty, ugly people… the worst is ugly, short men. Women can be short, but for men it is impossible. It is something that they will not forgive in life, they are mean and they want to kill you.”

“No one wants to see curvy women. You’ve got fat mothers with their bags of chips sitting in front of the television and saying that thin models are ugly.”

On Seal, “I am no dermatologist but I wouldn’t want his skin. Mine looks better than his. He is covered in craters.” Heidi doesn’t seem to mind. Wait a minute…

“Chanel is an institution, and you have to treat an institution like a whore – and then you get something out of her.”

Wow. But he does have a heart, although it might be black. “The only love that I believe in, is a mothers love for her children.” You bet. My favorite.

NEXT PURCHASE: the Karl Who? tote. Love!

Have a great week! Hoping to get up some NYFW reviews today – some really inspirational street style happening!!
